AsalBase website

Hi, today I write about the ASalBase site, that is the Atlantic Salmon genomic and genetic sequence database. The web site is: http://www.asalbase.org/sal-bin/index. The website has all the information of the Atlantic Salmon genome proyect. This site includes all the information generated by the cGRASP, which is the Consortium for Genomic Research on All Salmonids Programs. The effort to generate the Atlantic Salmon genome is made by an international aliance between Chile, Norway and Canada.

The sections of website are sequence, markers, genetic map, contigs, gene comparsions and BLAST. This site is a very useful tool if you work on genetics analisys in Atlantic salmon. You can search specific sequences, markers or genes in the database of the site. You can also compare your sequence whit the sequence on the database by the tool BLAST. I visite the website one time for month, because is very useful to my research proyect.

This site like to me because include all the information that exist respect to the Atlantic salmon genome, and I can compare sequences, find the sequence of specific markers, see genetic maps, all in the same website.

I hope that this site was useful for you.
